PATCH  Group  Licensing & Implementation  Guide

Structured  permissions  for  organized  PATCH  small-group  deployment

PATCH group licensing exists to solve a practical ministry challenge: equipping multiple participants with high-quality theological formation materials without requiring every individual to purchase premium printed resources separately.

PATCH Academy is intentionally built around durable, long-term formation workbooks and leadership guides. However, when deployed across an entire small group, purchasing premium paperback materials individually for every participant can become cost-prohibitive. Group licensing was therefore created to reduce this financial friction while preserving the full instructional experience and theological depth of the curriculum.

Instead of requiring each participant to purchase a full retail workbook, licensing allows churches to distribute printable student materials at a significantly lower per-student cost, while still providing leaders with shipped physical reference copies and full facilitation support. This model enables churches to launch structured discipleship environments that are both financially sustainable and scalable over time.

1. What PATCH Group Licensing Is PATCH group licensing grants a church or leader the right to deploy a specific PATCH course to a defined number of small groups and participants within their ministry. Each license is tied to: One specific course A defined number of groups Up to 12 participants per group Licensing ensures that each participant has legitimate access to the curriculum materials while allowing churches to scale implementation responsibly across multiple groups. This structure protects the integrity of the curriculum while keeping deployment accessible and sustainable for churches of varying sizes.

2. How One Group License Works A standard group license is designed to equip one small group of up to 12 participants for a specific course. Each group license typically includes: Printable student workbook PDF licenses for each participant (Students may optionally purchase a paperback workbook if desired)  One shipped paperback student workbook (leader reference copy) One shipped leadership companion guide (leader facilitation copy) Printable certificate of completion templates  Full access to Leader Portal implementation resources (Available to Leader Partner Members) No additional materials are required to launch a group once a license is secured. This model allows leaders to facilitate confidently while keeping the cost per participant significantly lower than individual retail purchasing.

3. Why Licensing Is Structured Per Group PATCH Academy is designed as a small-group discipleship framework. Licensing per group ensures responsible material distribution, consistent teaching structure, clear participant accountability, and scalable multiplication of trained leaders. By structuring licenses per group, churches can gradually expand implementation as leadership capacity and participant demand grow. This approach supports intentional ministry development instead of forcing large upfront purchases or recurring content fees.

4. Permanent Use, Not Temporary Access PATCH licensing is not subscription-based content access. Each licensed course becomes part of the church’s permanent internal discipleship library. This means: Courses may be reused for future groups Leadership tracks can be built from completed courses Materials remain available for long-term ministry use You are not renting content. You are building reusable discipleship infrastructure.

5. Licensing vs Subscription Models Many curriculum platforms operate on recurring subscription models that provide temporary access to rotating content libraries. In contrast, PATCH licensing provides stable, permanent access to structured formation materials that can be reused and scaled over time. This model prioritizes: Long-term doctrinal stability Leadership continuity Sustainable ministry infrastructure Predictable deployment costs Rather than renewing access each year, churches retain full ownership of the licensed curriculum for ongoing ministry use.

6. Multi-Group Scaling Structure Churches may license multiple groups at once based on their ministry size and leadership capacity. As additional groups are licensed, the effective per-student cost decreases while leadership reach expands. This allows churches to: Launch pilot groups first Gradually multiply cohorts Scale discipleship intentionally without recurring content fees Licensing grows with the church rather than forcing an all-at-once commitment, allowing ministry expansion to follow leadership readiness and participant demand.

7. Relationship Between Licensing and Membership PATCH group licensing is available to all churches and leaders. A paid Leader Partner Membership is not required to license groups. However, Leader Partner Members receive: A 15% discount on all licensing packages Access to Leader Hub implementation resources Ongoing leadership development support In summary: Licensing determines how many groups may use the curriculum. Membership provides the support ecosystem that helps leaders implement it effectively and sustainably.

8. Evaluating PATCH Before Licensing Church leaders are not required to purchase a group license to evaluate PATCH Academy. A low-risk evaluation pathway is available: Become a Free Community Member to access all course teaching videos Optionally purchase one student workbook and one leadership companion guide for a single course This allows leaders to experience: The full instructional flow The theological depth The workbook interaction design The leadership facilitation structure before making a larger licensing decision. This approach supports responsible stewardship and thoughtful ministry planning.

9. How Licensing Supports Long-Term Discipleship PATCH licensing is designed for churches that view discipleship as a long-term formation process rather than a short-term curriculum rotation. Because licensed materials remain permanently usable, churches can: Reuse materials for new groups Develop leadership pipelines from trained participants Maintain doctrinal consistency across multiple cohorts Build a cumulative theological training pathway over time This transforms curriculum purchasing from a recurring expense into a lasting ministry asset that strengthens long-term discipleship infrastructure.

10. A Scalable Infrastructure Model PATCH group licensing is ultimately an infrastructure model, not simply a content purchase. It provides: Structured teaching materials Leader facilitation guides Participant formation tools Repeatable group deployment systems As groups multiply, leadership capacity increases and the church develops an internal culture of structured theological formation. This makes discipleship reproducible, sustainable, and strategically aligned with long-term ministry growth.

11. Summary: What Licensing Provides PATCH group licensing equips churches with: Reduced per-student cost for group deployment Clear legal rights to deploy courses within structured groups Permanent reusable curriculum materials Scalable participant access across multiple cohorts Structured leadership facilitation support A sustainable infrastructure for long-term theological formation Licensing exists not merely to distribute materials, but to remove financial barriers and enable churches to implement serious discipleship at scale with clarity, consistency, and long-term sustainability.

The blended cost per participant reflects the total group licensing investment distributed across all participants in each deployment tier. This model provides a practical budgeting perspective for churches, demonstrating how cost efficiency improves as more groups are equipped while maintaining full curriculum access and leadership infrastructure.
