Is PATCH Academy Right for Your Church or Small Group?

1️⃣ Who Is PATCH Academy Designed For? PATCH Academy is designed for churches, small-group leaders, and individuals seeking structured theological formation rather than casual topical studies. The curriculum is intentionally built for a wide maturity range, beginning with curious seekers and maturing believers, and progressing toward advanced theological learners. Mature teens (approximately age 16+) through adults can benefit, depending on the course selected. Some courses are highly accessible for newer believers or those exploring faith, while others are designed specifically for mature Christians ready for deeper doctrinal and worldview study. This allows leaders to match each course to the readiness and spiritual maturity of their group.

2️⃣ What Type of Discipleship Does PATCH Provide? PATCH Academy provides progressive theological formation rather than isolated Bible study topics. Each course is intentionally structured to move participants from foundational worldview engagement into deeper identity formation, doctrinal clarity, and advanced biblical worldview synthesis. The goal is not merely information transfer, but long-term spiritual formation that shapes conviction, identity, and obedience. This makes PATCH suitable as either a full discipleship pathway or a focused formation study depending on ministry needs.

3️⃣ How Are the Courses Structured? Each course follows a consistent six-week rhythm: • Five concise teaching videos (approximately 10 minutes each) • One final week devoted to synthesis, reflection, and life application Every course includes a student workbook (approximately 90+ pages) and a leadership companion guide (approximately 50 pages). Each lesson within the workbook contains a written teaching recap, Scripture references, comprehension questions, critical thinking prompts, and a call-to-action application section. This creates a repeatable weekly formation flow: teaching, reflection, discussion, and application. Leadership companion guides provide facilitation guidance, anticipated questions and answers, tone recommendations, and discussion prompts for each lesson.

4️⃣ What Time Commitment Is Expected Each Week? Participants complete their preparation independently during the week by watching the teaching video and answering workbook questions. This typically requires about 45–60 minutes of personal time. Leaders review the corresponding lesson in the leadership companion guide, which generally requires about 15 minutes of preparation. Group sessions themselves are designed to last approximately 45–60 minutes and follow a clean, repeatable discussion structure. Prayer is intentionally included at both the beginning and end of each session. Leaders are encouraged to slow the pacing or extend a lesson if their group needs additional time for understanding or discussion.

5️⃣ Can We Preview or Test the Curriculum Before Committing? Yes. Churches, leaders, and individuals can evaluate PATCH Academy before making any long-term decision. Anyone may sign up as a free Community Member and receive access to all course teaching videos at no cost. This allows leaders to observe the teaching tone, theological depth, and overall direction of the curriculum without purchasing a license or subscription. Leaders may also purchase a single student workbook and the corresponding leadership companion guide for one course. These materials together provide the full curriculum experience for that course, allowing leaders to personally review lesson flow, discussion structure, and overall group rhythm before implementing it more broadly. How Group Licensing Works For churches planning to run full small groups, licensing agreements provide printable student workbook PDFs designed specifically for group use. These licenses make it easier and more cost-efficient to distribute materials to multiple participants while maintaining the integrity of the curriculum. Printable PDFs are available only through official group licensing and are not sold individually. Individuals may always purchase paperback workbooks for personal study if preferred. This model allows thoughtful evaluation first, followed by responsible and scalable group implementation when ready.

6️⃣ What Spiritual Outcomes Should We Expect? PATCH Academy is designed to form disciples, not merely inform students. Participants are guided toward deeper biblical literacy, stronger worldview clarity, increased confidence in Scripture, and a clearer understanding of identity and purpose in Christ. Reflection and testimony are encouraged within sessions, and each workbook includes opportunities to submit feedback and transformation testimonies. The long-term goal is spiritual maturity, doctrinal stability, and the development of future leaders within the church.

7️⃣What Order Should the Courses Be Taken? The recommended progression moves from foundational engagement to advanced theological depth: Kingdom Logic – Apologetic worldview foundations Deliverance & Dominion – Gospel clarity and identity in Christ Kingdom Insights / Verse & Vision – Faith, grace, Scripture, and personal discipleship Echoes of the Messiah – Messianic prophecy across the Old Testament narrative Origins & Identities – Advanced biblical ontology and worldview categories Theomachia – Capstone-level study of cosmic rebellion themes and ancient biblical worldview frameworks Churches may follow this full progression or select individual courses based on their ministry season and group readiness.

8️⃣ How Are Leaders Supported? Leaders are supported through detailed companion guides that provide facilitation tone guidance, anticipated student questions with prepared responses, lesson-specific discussion prompts, and leadership development insights. Additional support is available through the Leadership Hub, which includes extensive Q&A resources and training material for developing leaders. Leaders may also submit clarification questions via email when needed. This structure is designed to reduce leader anxiety while maintaining theological depth and clarity.

9️⃣ Is PATCH Academy intentionally flexible? Yes. PATCH Academy is intentionally flexible. Churches may implement a single course, a small selection of courses, or the full one-year discipleship pathway depending on their needs. For example, some churches may choose only apologetics-focused material, while others may select identity formation or advanced theological worldview studies. This allows leaders to align the curriculum with their specific ministry season, theological emphasis, and group maturity level.

🔟 Is This Beginner Friendly or Advanced? PATCH Academy does not require prior theological education. Each workbook provides definitions, scriptural grounding, and conceptual scaffolding to guide participants progressively through the material. While early courses are accessible to newer believers and mature teens, later courses move into deeper theological study intended for mature Christians. This progressive design allows participants to grow steadily in understanding and confidence over time.

1️⃣1️⃣ How Do Group Sessions Typically Flow Each Week? Sessions follow a consistent and repeatable structure that includes opening prayer, guided discussion based on the workbook questions, opportunities for reflection and testimony, and closing prayer. Leaders are encouraged to maintain the PATCH context rather than heavily modifying content, ensuring theological consistency and clarity across groups while still allowing pacing flexibility.

1️⃣2️⃣ Is This a Subscription Curriculum or a One-Time Purchase? PATCH Academy uses a one-time licensing model rather than recurring curriculum subscriptions. When a church or leader licenses a course for a group, they receive the materials needed for that deployment and retain them permanently. Additional licenses are only needed when launching new groups or implementing additional courses. This approach allows churches to steward resources carefully while maintaining long-term access to the curriculum they have implemented.

1️⃣3️⃣ Is There Recognition or Completion Milestones? Yes. Leaders who license courses receive printable certificates of completion to award participants who finish a course. Leaders who implement the full sequence of courses receive a grand completion certificate recognizing full pathway implementation. This provides tangible acknowledgment of discipleship progression and leadership commitment.

1️⃣4️⃣ Is PATCH Academy Meant to Accompany Sermons or Function Independently? PATCH Academy is designed as a standalone discipleship track rather than a sermon-based curriculum. Churches may run it alongside their regular preaching schedule without requiring integration into weekly sermon themes. This allows it to function as a dedicated small-group discipleship environment focused on theological formation and leadership development.

1️⃣5️⃣ What Future Expansions Are Planned? PATCH Academy is designed as a growing curriculum ecosystem rather than a fixed set of courses. The six current courses represent Series 1 within each major course category. This means that additional workbook courses are planned for the future under each category, expanding the depth and scope of study while maintaining the same structured formation model. For example, new courses will continue to be developed within the established categories (such as apologetics, identity formation, prophetic study, and advanced theological worldview), allowing churches to continue building upon the same doctrinal foundation over time. This approach ensures long-term continuity, deeper exploration of key themes, and the ability for churches to extend discipleship formation beyond the initial six-course pathway as additional series become available.
